Well... Last two eggs of the '06 season. Here's the story in a nut shell. The mother is a female tang bell het stripe I got from Kelli. I hadn't planned on breeding her this year at all since she was only 48 grams. Her tail wasn't as thick as I usually like them to be before breeding either. She layed two clutches of infertiles and started dropping weight So I moved her into a different/cooler room in hopes that she would stop. As you'll see she didn't. She threw two more clutches of infertiles so I said what the heck may as well get some babies from the deal. I bred her to my red stripe het bell Blaze and she threw two more clutches on the cycle. She's done now thank goodness. From the two clutches I hatched two striped Bells, one normal (circle back) Felicia and a cool little lavender Bell. Pretty good odds.:main_thumbsup:
Anyways.... sorry for the short novel. Here they are!!

Thanks Marcia & moosassah,
Mama is grossly thin! It took it's toll. She dropped to 43.6 grams and her tail is really thin. She's being a champ though, still eating great, wich is a huge bonus. I'm feeding her a few waxies and mealies caked with calcium & d3.
EDIT: oh yeah she's slowly putting weight back on she's currently 44.8 grams.
I was so scared I was going to loose her.

That one on the right is horrendous!!! I have a place to keep it though. :main_yes: Definitely out of the view of the public. That thing could scare people away from the hobby. :main_thumbsup:

Very nice! Congrats! I hope mama recovers real soon.
Thank you Brandy!
I think she'll be just fine! She's active which is great, feeding and gaining weight. I've had females in the past just totaly shut down from laying infertiles too soon.

Even still though, Poor little girl. I feel horrible.:main_thumbsdown:
Sorry Kelli!

That's definately a project I'd like to shoot for. Non het reverse stripes seem near impossible to find. I actually have a male from my double het red stripe bells who looks like a candidate for that project, along with this bell female who has a couple reverse stripe markings showing. Although I think a few of the major leaguers got me beat on that project. (just a hunch) Here are the two. It's a long shot no doubt but we'll see.

You know, it'd probably be even easier to cross them with a PRS, but there's still the possible het Tremper issue. Needless to say, you've got an awesome project going even if this is as far as you take it. You can always outcross to nicer Red Stripes...
