swimming?

i was sittin outside 2day and lookin out over the pond and a thought hit me. can leos swim? i never reely wondered this and of course im not goin to try it i was just wonderin if anyone knew if leos could swim or not?

umm, when i had some stuck shed on my leos toes, i filled up the sink to get it off, and just dip his toes in, he hates me touching his toes, se he went nuts, jumped out of my hand, and into the sink, then he swam to the side. so my guess is that they can swim for short distances. i also agree with marcia, there are no bodies of water where they come from.

I agree with Marcia, there are no large bodies of water in their natural habitat and from what i've read they generally drink the due of plants and leaves.

They are very muscular and solid little reptiles. I doubt they can swim more than a few seconds to save their lives.

They may be solid but also have a big life preserver strapped to their back end...
most lizards can swim fairly well as a much younger and dumber person i'd thrown one or two scaly things into the water :devil:. They could probably do a large puddle or small pond if need be without much effort.
