Switching To Slate Tile?

I have had my male leopard gecko on sand since the 4 years I had had him and I just got a female in July. I noticed she was eating it and so I put a calcium dish in there for her. I haven't see her eat it lately and she has been pooping. I want to know if it is okay for me to switch them on slate tile. Will my male leopard gecko be good with the switch?

I have slate in my viv for my leo and I love it. I put play sand underneath to help with the heat from the UTH and then fill in the cracks with play sand and sweep off excess sand away. Here is a pic so you can see. 1370018_4570397196278_983467762_o1.jpg

It's always a good idea to switch from sand to tiles. Slate or ceramic tiles both will work well, I personally prefer ceramic since they're lighter and easier to spot clean. But you won't go wrong with either. Your geckos will appreciate the change, and it'll be healthier for them, and you can keep their terrarium much more clean. Plus it sure is nice not having to worry about impaction issues.

I have slate in my Exo Terra terrarium. Very easy to keep clean, though it sucks when mealies get loose because they love to get into the cracks. I think when I build a viv, I'm gonna grout the tiles, lol.

I've rearranged and added stuff since this was taken, and the rocks have been stacked to give my leo a hide with a couple different entrances.
