Hey guys, I just came back from a trip and decided to look at my leo and I found my female with a swollen face. My parents were looking after her when I was gone(I guess they didn't look at it too much), but now its pretty noticeable. I'll post pictures. I moved it to a box to take pictures. Then I just cleaned out its whole cage just in case. I dabbed it a few times with cloth and warm water. Could it be a lack of calcium or vitamins or is it an injury? It's not sharing a cage with anything else, fed off of mealworms.

Aww poor girl :( How is she doing now? She might have been bitten by an insect or fell and hit her head, bumped her heat into something etc . I think it looks like an injury, but if she is still swollen (even after shedding a couple of times), I would see a vet!

I hope she is doing better - its been a while since you posted :(

Best wishes to you and your girl!

If there is no wound on the out side then its most likely an abscess of some sort on the inside of the mouth or possibly the ear.
I would see a vet ASAP as you wouldnt want any possible infection to spread.

Hey, I don't know where to start but I've got good news. I know the post has been from a while ago and I have been monitoring her more closely ever since. I've found that the "bulge" doesn't obstruct any mouth or eye movement, etc. It doesn't interfere with eating as I've been feeding it alot and she still has a great appetite. Also her eye seems to be fully open and healthy. I've cleaned her cage more often to prevent infection of any kind. Even though she is doing good, I won't take this "bulge" lightly. I'm still trying to find a vet who can fix this problem but this is just an update. Thanks for everything :) Also it has shedded and yeah.

Thats great news :D I think its very caring and responsible of you to take her to a vet even though the your worst fears are over!

ARAV keeps a listing of reptile vets in each state. I would check out their website: Arav

If she were mine I would still be suspicious that it was an abscess and get her in to make sure it won't burst or swell too much more and potentially kill her.

Good luck!! Keep us updated!
