so i was searching the site and didnt find too many articles on taill drop. So i thought i would ask, I just got a two month old gecko in the mail today:D however, half of her tail is off. should i do anything about it or just let her chill and calm down? anything i can do to make her less stressed? thanks

Was the doopped portion of her tail still in the shipping container? It sounds like she could have been banged around quite a bit and/or really stressed from the shipping. Poor baby!

Put a little neosporin on the stump, and keep her on paper towel until it begins to regenerate. Let her settle down with as little stress as possible for a few days, and she should be fine.

well actually it looks like someone took a razor and cut half her tail off, its all the way at the beginning of her tail, the underside i can see is not attached but the top still is. i cant explain it much better then that, as of right now its still attached and she is hiding so i dont want to bug her for a couple of days, the other leopard gecko that i got with her is shaken but hasnt lost her tail i guess because shes a bit older. should i try to get her to drop the tail complety i dont think it would be that hard considering she is scared. ? she seems to still move her tail like its attached she doesnt arc it but i dont bug her either. so what shoulld i do? just let it drop all the way naturally? thanks for the advice

If it is severed all the way to the base of her body, it should drop naturally. If it looks like it is necrotic, or infection is spreading to the rest of her healthy tissue, I would go ahead and amputate it.
