Hey all ... my newest acquisition is now getting a tail kink ... did NOT have it when I first got "her". She has been knocked off the dresser 3 times by the demon cat

.

Besides trauma (which is very possible in this case) what else might cause this? Temps are 90-95 degrees on the hot end and 75-80 on cool end. Housed on paper towels.

Maybe it might be too hot and some sort of reaction to the heat is occurring. Marcia talked about it some time ago but with the cool side being 80 I doubt it's that. I only say it could be because of your other thread referring to MBD like symptoms in several other leos you own.

Malnutrition, dehydration and physical trauma can cause a gecko's tail to look like that. Correct any potential causes of the first two and do what you can to prevent further trauma and hopefully the condition will not worsen.

She's a little hatchling. I mist her cage every day. She has a water bowl at all times. She gets gutloaded (retpilesupply.com) mealies (5-10 a day, as many as she'll eat) dusted in Zoo Med Reptivite and Osteoform. Pure calcium in a bottle cap. Last 2 sheds were great. She won't eat waxies (tried 1 just to see). She gets crickets when I get ones small enough. I've had her for 3 weeks 2 days. She weighed 8 grams when I got her and she was 14 grams yesterday. She's got a heat mat - temp on that end 90-95 degrees and cool end is 70-80. Digital thermometer readings.

Does she really look that dehydrated? How can I get her to increase water intake?
