Hello,

I saw a pic of a Diablo Blanco with a similiar issue on here and thought I would share mine to see if the consensus is the same.

I noticed this yesterday on one of my females she is healthy and has not lost any weight in fact she is still gaining, I am wondering if this is tail rot from an injury or a bad shed. I used a q-tip to but a bit of neosporin on it.

At any rate should I just monitor it for a bit or does it warrant a trip to the vet?

The very tip of the tail will fall off through shed. You wont even be able to tell she has a sore once she sheds.Instead of having a very pointed tip her tail will be a little rounded.you wont l be able to tell.trust me

I had a much worse case of something similar to this recently with one of my females. (http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=57779) I was FREAKING OUT! lol. She ended up dropping it within a week or less. =) Her tail is growing back nicely now. I still don't know what happened to to the poor girl, but she's doing just fine. =) Good luck with this. It should drop off.

A vet wouldnt be a huge waste of money. My RAPTOR had the same problem. I did everything I could without a vet trip, but most likely, that injury will spread. I recommend a vet trip asap. I was prescribed baytril, pain meds, a cream, and a thing to soak her with. I think without this, she would have lost her tail. Think of this. You either spend the money on the right meds, or you pay wayyyyy more when the tail gets infected and needs to be amputated.

I didn't say that it was, just in my case I would have wasted money if her tail just fell off the next day anyway

Thanks for your help with this guys. The bad spot did fall off and the remainder is looking clean and healthy. She is irritated at me right now because she does not like cleaning night in the cages but I will get an updated pic soon.
