Tail turning white but just shed!

My leopard gecko's tail is turning kind of white on top around the middle. He just shed a few days ago. Although I never saw his tail turn white. I noticed it looked a bit different though around the time he was shedding. A bit brighter and kind of shiny near the tip of his tail. Is it possible that maybe he didn't shed his tail after all and is shedding now? Or is there something wrong? 20140402_225947.jpg

That's definitely a little strange in appearance. I would try soaking him in a small amount of lukewarm water and rub gently with your fingers to see if it will come off. I can't tell from the picture if it looks like stuck skin from his last shed or something else.

agreed, try soaking the tail and try gently running your fingers down the tail to see if any loose skin comes off. the other possibility is that sometimes the skin isnt quite ready to come off in which case it leaves the new skin under dry and raw. once exposed the skin will dry and look crusty and a bit shiny.
the tail its self also looks to be in a weird position (looks really stiff), is the tail still flexible? can he still flex it?
