My male leopard gecko was slowly wagging his tail back and forth today after we fed him. What does this mean?

My leo does the slow tail swish when he's irritated. Like when he doesn't want to be taken out or if I spray his tank... we don't feed crickets so I've never seen that as a prey response. We feed supers so all I ever see is the head cock before the strike.

It's kinda hard to tell with the regen tail but it looks to me like cautiousness with a touch of anxiety and acting big and bad incase something jumps out in front oif him.

My girl does it after I feed her, like when she's just walking around her cage. I think it's cute. She's getting ready to shed (2nd time this month). I can't wait.

LOL!

+1 Rose does a tail wag to me if I scare her, usually when I'm moving things around in her tank. Fae doesn't do the tail wag...just starts running as fast as she can until she runs into the wall :main_no: :main_rolleyes:

Well, all of my Leos do the "excited hunt wag", but my females will do the exaggerated tail swoosh back and forth. from time to time.
Not sure why though.....

Is it my imagination or does his tail look exactly like his head in the video? Not only that, but it is also the part moving the most.

If you were a predator, which part would you attack? If you were prey, which part would you pay more attention to and avoid?

My Leopard gecko does this when she is stalking crickets. I think it is adorable.
