Tangerine TRempers?

I was wondering how you come about a tangerine tremper albino. I'm new to all the genetics, etc. so anything will help.

a tangerine albino is called a tangelo. Ron Tremper sells them i believe as he started them.
to make them your self youll need a tangerine and a tremper. breed together to get mildly tangerine coloured normals het for tremper, then breed them back to each other, and youll get trempers and theyll have an amount of tangerine on them.

if you want to make them brighter then keep line breeding the best tangerine trempers to each other to get better ones.

I have a tremper and hypo tangerine(not as bright as i would like), so after I bred them together, what would I breed the offspring with?? sorry im new to genetics.

Tangerine is line bred you will need to have a tang het(carrying the gene) Tremper albino and cross it into your Tremper albino then line breed/ selectively breed for the best looking tangs. Eventually you can reach hypo or super hypo tangerine albinos which are called hybinos or sunglows. A tangelo is essentially Tremper's line of hybino/sunglow and can only be called such if it's from that line, so any old tang Tremper is not a Tangelo.

Sorry but is it correct that I would breed the two leos i have, the hypo tang and the tremper, which would get either normal het tremper or hypo het tremper, with tang influence. Then breed the offspring to my tremper female , then line breed the more tang ones???

you will get some tangy- high yellows all 100% het tremper breed those together or back to the albino and line breed from there :main_thumbsup:

Ok cool thanks, if i were to undertake this project, would you recommend replacing that male with one that is more tangerine, like a SHTCTB??
This seems like a pretty tough beginner breeding project lol. If i were just trying to get some nice tangs, what kind of female would you recommend getting to breed with my hypo tang male?? Or what else could I breed with my tremper for a cool morph?? Sorry if this is getting redundant, I am just new to breeding and want to make a good choice with my next leo..

to get some good tangerines you need to breed tangerines...
the better the tangerine the better the offspring.
and if you did replace the male with one more tangerine then it would make it a bit quicker cuz you wouldnt have to do as much line breeding to make the tangerine stronger, because it already is stronger.

to breed with your tremper you could breed it with a mack snow tremper or super snow tremper or an enigma, as they are co-dominant traits, so you would get some interesting offspring in the first generation.
breeding it with a mack snow tremper would give 50% trempers and 50% mack snow trempers.
breeding with a super snow tremper would give you 100% mack snow tremper.
and you might want to avoid enigma actually since your a begginner.
