For a gargoyle gecko...how do you set up the tank? i plan on getting a 15 gal for it. Thats what the breeder told me would be a good size tank.

and for a crested gecko...i plan on getting a 20 gal tall tank cuz i kno they need some climbing room.

i have heard mixed things on how to set up both these tanks. Do i need moist hides? any hides on the floor? etc.

Thank you! any help would be great! I have a month to set these tanks up.

Both require a certain amount of height and honestly a 15 gallon high will work fine for the both of them.

Gargs prefer more branchy/vine type setups. They do require some plants, but they love branches, sticks, and vines to climb on.

Cresties prefer more plants in their setup, climbing material is needed, but they honestly prefer more plants.

Both will require a secure sleep place on the floor of the tank incase they feel like sleeping on the floor, I use TP rolls..lol

Moist hides are not needed for either one. These guys need humid tanks in general, not tanks like leos. You want to mist them down 2-3 times a day depending on your relative humidity. And it is fine for it to dry out a little in the afternoon hitting a humidity around 45-50%, constant heavy humidity makes for quick mold and bacteria buildup.

Here is a few links to some garg setups

Sarah breeds alot of gargs and a few cresteds so the majority of her setups are garg setups

These are my crestie setups and 1 garg setup, was before I got the other 3.

I use alot more of them now as my room has seriously changed since those pics, I should get new pics done. But check out that site, I really suggest any Rhac species owner to check it over as it is a site/forum just for the species of Rhacs, so many crested/garg/leachie/chewie owners are there, but then there are also sections for other species. Kinda like this one is focused on leos, but also has little sub sections, Pangea is like that for the Rhac species.
