Tank size okay for a ball python?

I have an 18x18x24 exo tera tank, 30 gallons.
Is that okay for an adult python?
I had this tank for a crested gecko, but he passed away and I plan to get a ball python soon but wasn't sure if this tank has enough floor space. Do they climb a lot or should I just buy a shorter 30 gallon if they prefer the ground more?

Depending on the size of the snake, for instance if its a hatchling or a juvenile, you'd want to get something like a 20 gal. tank, you dont want to get something too large for the snake, it tends to stress them they like to feel secure. once it gets larger I'd say a 30 long would do just nice even as an adult. They prefer more ground space, and lots of hide's. They are very secretive snakes.

If it helps any, we've got a 15wk old ball, about 19in long, in a 40gal breeder with bamboo propped and laid out all over the tank with hides and such. He uses all the space we give him, traveling and climbing everywhere.
