Temp control

so i have two UTH's on my warm side of the 40 breeder, they keep that general area around 91 - 100 depending on the day and area....how ever the AIR TEMP is not any where near that....how can i bring up the air temp on that side of the cage with out using a heat lamp?

I would not worry too much about this issue because my leo is doing great, eating well, and very happy....how ever soon we will be adding another female friend for her and i am worried it might not be enough heat for the 2 of them.

You can't bring the air temp up without a lamp unless you warm up the room.
Unless you plan on breeding them I would house them seperate to make sure they don't fight over the hides in diffrent temp zones.

i can always add more UTH's on the sides of the glass by the hides right? i dont want to house them differently i have alot of work into this 40 breader for multiple geckos to live in.... I am not interested in breeding atm maybe in the future but my setup is in a custom cabinet and dont have room for the heat lamp.....how ever i have been in pet stores where they dont have heat lamps but have these thermostats hooked up to the cage and i didnt know if there was som pro equipment that i didnt know about or what.

thats my situation though....dont have any room at the top for a heat lamp, unless they make smaller domes......would it be sufficient to apply UTH's on the side glass and under the tank on the warm side?

Just want to warm you that many times the geckos don't get along so having a second tank available is needed just incase. they can fight or one can be bullied from certain areas.

If you put a uth on the glass be careful the glass don't get to hot since some leo's try to climb the glass.

Your going to need a second tank to quarantine the new one regardless.

As long as you have 1/3 the bottom of the tank heated it should be fine. I agree with satyr666's comment it wouldnt help much but that might be your only other option. I have a custom cabinet thing too so I have the same "no dome lamp space" issue. I just heat with heat tape and dont worry about air temps. They just need the belly heat.

I find it really depends on the personality of the leos as to if they can be housed together.
If they both get along and dont mind each other, great. A 40 breeder is plenty big for 2 leos and enough hides for both so I wouldnt be worried about that.
Just be sure they are both the same size and make sure one doesnt bully the other out of all the food.

yeah im not worried about quarantine, as soon as i get a stool sample from both i am getting them checked at the vet...i just dont have the time to separate or equipment to have them separated for 4-16 weeks. If they dont get along then i guess i will have to separate them....im living on a prayer right now

with them both being enigma i am really hoping that they are friendly towards each ohter....sammy, the one i have now, is such a friendly gecko and she loves the company of other geckos. From what i understand this new little lady is the same way..... i guess i will see how it goes this afternoon.
