Hi Everyone:

I have a question and look forward to feedback. From a semi large scale breeding operations perspective, is it better to incubate for females or male for resale? Is it harder to move males vs. females? Or, is the best thing to let nature take its course and hatch a mix of males and females.

Thanks,
Brandon

I usually incubate 35% male and 65% female. Market-wise, people use approximately one male for every 3-4 females. Other considerations are when bringing up offspring, females can be housed together if necessary. If you plan on selling unsexable juveniles, you can incubate at 85-86 degrees to get a relatively even ratio of males to females, but by incubating at different temperatures separately you will have better chances by selling sexable geckos.
