I have my hova set up with a thermostat (inferior model...I have to save for a proportional one) and I put a water bottle in last night to help stabilize temps and it was much better than the night before. I have a nice little digital thermometer/hygrometer that shows min/max temps in there. Note there are no eggs yet, I'm getting the incubator all set up and steady with temps before they come. I might try putting the hova in my closet to see if that will steady the temps even more. But I was wondering how much temperature change is considered a spike? If the incubation temp. varies say about 2 degrees either way (up or down) will that be bad for the eggs?
Also, read a few posts where people said you should take out the wafer thermostat on the hova. Is that necessary and how does it come out?? Thanks!
