If you're just using it for a tank I think it should be fine. The difference between the cheaper and more expensive ones are the expansive ones are proportional and act like a dimmer instead of an on/off thermostat.

I use a hydrofarm thermostat for my leos heating pad and i've had no problems, I like it! It was about $30 on amazon.

I believe the thermostat linked by the OP could be used to control a heat pad but it does not come with a plug and you would need to wire it into the heat pad which could be tricky if you don't know what you're doing. It looks like it's designed to control temps in a refrigerator or something like that. Personally I would prefer paying an extra $20 for a model I could just plug my heat pad into. With any thermostat you can really only use it with one heat pad unless all of the pads you're using are the same wattage and size. The probe will only be measuring on of the pads so you'll need to check the others regularly to make sure they're still functioning correctly.
