temperature problem

I have a temperature problem in my Leopard Gecko tank i have a Zoo Med Repti-Therm UTH Under Tank Heaters design for 30-40 gallon size tank on a 10 gallon tank and if you ask why i but such a big under tank heater is because they were having a sale and it was just 10 dollar i also have a 60 watt Zoo Med Night Reptile Bulb her is my problem when just the under tank heater is used the tank get to hot, but if i just use the bulb it get to cold does any one have any suggestion to solve this problem

What substrate are you using that the heat from underneath is too hot.What do you consider too hot?If its above 95 deg then you need to add a thicker substrate.It needs to be between 88-95 deg on the warm end.The UTH needs to be on just 1/3 of the tank with the other end being room temperature.You dont need the above bulbs.Its overkill
