Well i got some new exo terra digital thermometers for my vivs and getting the temperatures just right is turning out to be a nightmare
I am using heat mats, 2 different brands, and Ministat 100s to regulate them.
The mat i have in my males viv is a 11x11 14w Algarde one. The mat is black strips inside not solid blocks of black.
When i set the thermostat to about 92 im getting temps that can go up to 104, when i set it lower i can get to about 97-98 but then my minimum temp can drop to 85.
The viv i have my new female in has a 11x11, 12w Komodo heat mat. This is 2 solid blocks of black with a clear strip in the middle.
So far this isnt as bad as the other for being too hot but can still do a 85-97 range.
My leos both seem happy, even the female i only got yesterday isnt spending all her time in the hot side and has been having a wander and is a lot more tame than when i got my male
My male likes to sleep a lot in the bottom corner of the hot side, the mat isnt directly under that part but its still warmish there.
My living room where i keep them is usually around 20c and i use paper towel substrate.
Can anyone please give advice on how to do this a little easier or if my temps are ok.
Thanks in advance for any help
