im having trouble keeping my cage at the right temperature, and im really not sure if what im doing or using is right.

i have a heating pad that i put on one side of the tank and a 26w uvb bulb that i put on the other side of the 10 gallon tank. the hot side has the heating pad but i cant get it past about 83, and the cool side wont go past 75.

are you trying to get the ambient air temp up in the hot side or the air temperature in their warm hide? because the air temp on my warm side is around what yours is but the temperature in my warm hide which is right above the heat pad is around 95-96

yeah i guess im trying to get the air temp up...i mean im just trying to figure out what is supposed to be right.. cause i can get the temp up fine where the heat pad is...but the other side of the cage is too cold and yeah when i raise the thermometer higher it drops to like 80

Well right now my cool side is around 75 my warm side around 80-85 depending on time of day and my warm hide is 96 and my geckos when they wanna warm up go into their warm hide and want to cool off head to the cool side and they seem comfortable if your wanting to raise the temp of the air a little more on the warm side I would try adding another basking light or ceramic heater and place it above the warm side the only lighting I use is just a regular light bulb to add extra heat in the winter
