Geek is spoiled - like you wouldnt believe!
He is in an Exo-Terra 40b all to himself. His UTH is on the left and this pic shows its location in the tank:
He has a mag shelf on the left (hot side) - a faux rock hide on the back side on the hot side and a another hide situated right in the middle of the front and back glass on the hot side as well.
His humid hide is in the middle against the back wall and he has his water dish on the right side (cool side) along with another hide against the back glass.
About a month ago I added a faux foam hide and once I put it in - he spends about 85-90% of his time in it. It is located somewhat above the UTH but I kept thinking it could not be warm enough....
Here is the hide:
Tonight I pulled it out, poked holes in the underside of it and ran the UTH controller sensor and additional temp sensor through it - then poked another couple holes through to run a twist tie through to secure both probes to the bottom of it.
Its at 92 now and I have adjusted the controller to not go above that. I do feel so much better knowing the floor temp of it is suitable for his belly heat since he spends so much time in it.
Geek crawled right back in once my modifications were done and is happy as ever.
Anyone see any issue with this? Had any type of similar experiance?
