Terrible Tremper Tradgedy [Not for the faint of heart]

Earlier, well, not so much earleir as about 15 mins ago, our tremper albino Alexandria managed to escape my ma's attention, so when she stood up the gecko dropped. Now we dunno what happened afterwards, but i suspect the dog came after her and bit her tail as a hunk of it was half cut into, and she dropped it. Said dog ran, and came back when we cleaned up said gecko from the scene and removed the tail. Alex is currently recooperating in her own private 30gal long pad.

I know the pics arent clear, but i think you get the jist. And no thats not the front end, its the back, for those of you who just wanted to see pics.

But if it was out of it's home then shouldn't someone have paying attention to it knowing there is dogs, cats etc in the house??

The dog is generally afraid of the geckos and the cat is locked in a room with em at the time, which is why i think my ma stepped on her tail or my dog got to the tail AFTER she dropped it. But the geckos perfectly fine, besides missing its tail. Shes been running around and sleeping in funny places just like always.

I hope the tail regenerates nicely. What exactly does one do for the gecko when something like this happens? Is there medicine to be applied or something? Man, my boys would have my head on a platter if that happened!

Awww... what a shame! Keep her on paper towel, and apply some antibiotic ointment to the wound. In a week or so, you will see a little pink nub where her regenerated tail will be forming.

Weve been applying neosporin and will be switching her private pad to papertowl from reptile carpet. I think its worst for alex in another way by she liked to slip out of yoru hand onto a surface below it by lowing herself with her tail clinging to you.
