The defensive geckos seems to be the nice ones.

I'm not sure if anyone feels this way. Whenever I get new reptiles, you will alwys get your share of calm ones and those who are skittish or defensive.

In the long run, they all are tame, but to me, it seems like the real defensive ones at start are the friendliest. I have one gecko who never minds being held, never hissed at me when he was lil and today he's still the same but hides from me and avoids being touched.

Then I have another one whos the most defensive thign in the world as a baby. He would hiss at the sight of me, bites me, runs out of my hand. Now that hes big, he comes out to greet me all the time, don't mind me touching his head, etc.

I find this alot with dogs too. Those that are under socialized and the most defensive have the most beautiful core temperament you cold ask for (once you are able to bring it out). Those that come outta the chute guns blazing never seem to reach the same level as the others. It's like "once a butt head always a butt head" kinda scenario.

now you guys make me nervous that my leo is going to get moody since she's probably the most chill animal I've ever met, but I've only had her for a week (though she is a year old)

Nah... I believe yours has it's core temperament right out there on it's sleeve for all to see. I wouldn't suspect this animal would change it's personality on ya after settling in.

...Ironically, she's pissed at me today :(
Not afraid, but pissed.
She hasn't poo'd in 4 days so I checked her tank thoroughly for it today, and so I don't squish her with any heavy hides, I always put her in her "travel home" but when I reached down to get her, she squeeked and raced into her hide :(
I thought it might have just been a freak episode, but I tried it again tonight when she was out, and again, she didn't hide when I was near her tank, but when I went to handle her, she scrambled for her hide :(

does gecko constipation exists? XD and can it make for a grumpy gecko?

Yes geckos can get constipated. I'd imagine it would make them grouchy, it makes ME grouchy :) I have read that a warm soak in a shallow tupperware dish can help alleviate this. I use to do it in the old days with my first Ball python and it really does work.
