These are my dogs. They are both female and seem to have Retriever blood somewhat but we don't know which breed cross they are because they were found on the street.

Sargas to the left, Taki to the right.

Taki is such a vicious and dangerous dog!

Did you find them together as puppies on the street? If you did then you were very lucky. They look like absolutely wonderful dogs.

Yup, a friend of my mother found them together on the street when they were very very young. But she couldn't keep them for long because she already had two rotties and a baby so she offered them to us. Since we didn't had any experience with dogs, my mother's friend took care of them until they were weaned.

And they are indeed wonderful. Sometimes they act a bit mischievous but they can be good girls if they want to. They are also very loving and smart. I can't beleive that someone was be able to abandon them with that angelical face they have. Well, too bad for them.

I recently moved and I don't live with them anymore, so I took these photos as a keepsake. They stayed at my mother's house. I miss them so much :(

Oh that is soo sad. I could not leave my dogs behind for anything. They have to be with me. Along with my cats and snakes and geckos.

I wouldn't leave my dogs neither, if I didn't know that what I was doing is the right thing to do. They are not really "my dogs", I don't think of them as a thing to own but as members of my family, so they don't pertain to anyone particular. I can't take them with me just because I want to. I think that the fairest thing to do is let them live in the same enviroment they always did.

And there's yet another thing. My parents got divorcied this year. My sister, although she is supposed to live at my mother's house, is very "fun-loving" and rarely steps at home if is not to sleep. If I am gone and I take the dogs with me, my mother would feel very lonely.

Also, the owner of the flat where I live doesn't accept animals (although if they were coming with me, I would had keep looking for a flat that did). The flat is small and I'm working and studying at the same time, I wouldn't have enough time to look after my dogs. They will be definitely better with my mother.

But of course my gecko and turtle came with me incognito :main_laugh:

Bad news, yesterday my mother phoned saying that Taki had fallen from a second floor a few days ago :( Being so lucky that she only dislocated her leg.

The vet says that she will probably have a slight limp the rest of her life even after having the surgery. It seems that Taki is starting to feel better, but she must have suffered a lot in the past few days. I wish I could have been with her :(

Sandra-they are both beautiful and i can imagine how very much that you miss them but i totally understand why you did what you did
I hope that Taki is feeling better soon and that she makes a full recovery
Animals are amazing with coping with physical problems-there are 3 legged cats and dogs that get around just as well as four legged ones
As long as there is not bad arthritis setting in-in her older years-i am sure that she will be fine
And even if there was a problem with arthritis-they have some miracle drugs for dogs now
My 11 yr. old black lab mix-Snoopy- is proof of that

:D
