Okay for a little background info, I decided earlier this year to try and breed my carrot tail pair together (Bonnie & Clyde). It was a success and Bonnie has been laying eggs since the beginning of May. I didn't have an actual incubator though and had heard on here somewhere that someone once incubated eggs in a sterilite box under a pile of clothing. I decided if they could do it so could I!
Long story short I filled the bottom of my sterilite box with moistened jungle bedding, placed my eggs in there, wrapped the box and beach towels and stuck it in the top of my closet (heat rises). My house has terrible air conditioning in the bedrooms so I close my room off when I am not in it -at work- and it seems to stay around 78-80 degrees in there.
The eggs have all been fertile and when candled I could see the veins, then the oldest ones began to swell and when candled I couldn't see through the eggs any more and miraculously enough I came home today to find my first baby!!!
I will post pictures soon - I am so excited I wasn't sure that incubation method would work!
