Evening guys!!
Got my first Leo today!! so chuffed! As the wife has 2 hamsters and a cat. Me , I've been wanting a Gecko for ages, so today i went out and invested!!
Now completely new to these, so i just followed and absorbed as much info and advice from the shop as possible!! Just tried to add my Leo to "add my gecko" in the profile but i don't quite understand what "morph" mine is so if anyone can help with that then would be great.
If you have any advice for a "newbie" then would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Benny!!

P.s - i'm on a hunt for names aswell. Here's the lad!

Hes an adorable high yellow! Beware you can't just have one of these geckos! To add in your profile go up in the corner where you log in and click private messages and then go to avatar something' I don't remember what it says exactly but something about avatar. I don't know any names but he's a male so that may help?! WELCOME TO GF!

Sounds Addictive?! 3!! wow! Dunno if i'll get that many! i think my next purchase is a bigger viv for him, as currently in there i have:

Cooler End
a fake vine
a thin log/branch
1 shelter

Warmer End
A heater rock
lamp

And i think if i add anymore it'll become crowded, so i think its a bigger one next as haven't got a moss shelter in there. I've got the VivExotic LX 24 Vivarium , it's 37.5cm x 58.7 x 40.5, does anyone think it needs upgrading (although just got it, but still).

Cheers

do you mean a heat rock? If so, id get rid of that asap. it can burn them.. They need a under tank heater

Well as i thought, but i've got a wooden viv with vivarium carpet, i was told they can lay on the UTH and not realise they're burning themselves. To be fair since i've had it on, it doesn't seem to of gotten too hot.

Thanks

Get a light dimmer or thermostat for the UTH and a temp probe. Place the probe on the area the UTH is under to monitor temps therefore he cant get burnt from it. Heat rocks are bad :/ oh and you dont really need the light unless its chilly in your home :)

Lol welcome to the forums! (I'm assuming it's a he/gecko) looks absolutely gorgeous! Everyone's right, can't start with just one. Soon you'll be pulled into the herp addiction! I was just gonna get the first leopard gecko myself, and that was by chance. Now I have two leopard geckos and a bearded dragon! ^.^

Names:

Males:

Ares
Xerxes
Eros
Apollo (since he's a High Yellow according to another member)
Zarek
Stark
Hercules

I have other ideas but figured those may give you some help. I'm into Greek Mythology (coughs) :)

No, no moist hide yet, couple posts of mine up, i've put the dimensions of my viv, if i put a moist hide in there aswell i think it'll be too crowded although if the moist hide is okay in the warmer end then once i replace the heat rock with a UTH then it'll give me more room. See why do shops say use a Heat rock instead of a UTH because of "this that and the other"!! Doubt they'll take it back either! Grrrrr wish i'd of known! spent best part of £220 today including the leo! shops eh!

Ok if i'm to not bother using the lamp, what kinda bulb can i use just for viewing then?
