I intend this to be a valuable reference, especially for noobies (like me), with a PHOTO for each eye morph....so PLEASE post and label your PHOTO's!! :)

If you want to discuss, correct, or comment on a photo, please "quote" it or mention the PIC-ID#.

I will likely come back later and move everyone's submissions (with credit to owner) into this 1st post for easy searching/comparing. :)

Note: I'm not entirely convinced my pet-store blizzard is displaying "Eclipse/Snake-eye" variation, which is RANDOM in Blizzards?? (noobie here). However, it matches the description of "Snake-eyes" by being only partially solid (about 1/4 of the eye).

Please post photos of your Leo's special "eye traits" and identify/classify them? I would like to fill in the blanks and even get more examples of the ones I already pictured.

Thanks!!

Just a note - your pic ID#4 is a snake eye as a snake eye is an eclipse eye that is only showing partial pigment. If your #5 photo is an eclipse then its a snake eye too. If not then it's just a "normal" albino eye. The glare on the upper right hand side of the pupil makes it hard for me to tell if there is eclipsing there or not.

Thanks for the help! :) I moved #4 to the correct classification (snake-eye albino). #5 is classified as a "Raptor - snake eye" on her info-chart. Thanks for the correction. This is why this reference is going to be so useful to "noobs" like me. When I was browsing my photo's, I thought it was a regular eye (from my Tremper het eclipse) under bright lighting, so "fully-shuttered" against the bright light."

So I moved #5 to "albino: snake-eyes" as well! :) Can you post any other example pictures of any eyes (especially normal & snake eyes) so I can include them in the flip chart for easier comparison?

Also, what do you look at in pic#5 that makes it "snake eyes"? Is the only key difference the probable darkened area at the upper right area of the pupil"? I know that defines "eclipse/snake eyes" but is that the only difference when compared to normal eyes? I overlooked such a small darkened area, so any other differences will help to identify in the future. :)

As I just mentioned, I thought it was just normal albino eyes being shuttered against the light... Obviously you are right because Kyle also had this raptor listed as "snake-eyes". Maybe with more photo's or info, I won't misidentify anymore. :)

Thanks!! :)

Thanks!! A good description, a few pictures of each (for clarity), and even a few pics of "normal" eyes would be awweeeee-sooooommmmeee!!

Even after all my reading (as a good "noob"), I am still finding myself making errors. Hopefully a perfect "photo-album" will get to be a STICKY! :)

also, what kind of eye is that if it isn't marble? The "genetics calculator" says it is your pic, but they call it marbled so I was just following their lead into error on that pic. I wouldn't know what to call it, but it is very mesmerizing..

Feel free to use any of my own pics I have posted, just post credit to "Tommy @ TRAAsss" :) I hope you don't mind that I posted the pic from the Genetics calculator, but I made sure to continue crediting you for the photo as well. :)

Correct me if Im wrong Matt but it was you who did a really in depth write up on eyes pigment in leos, correct?

He linked to his write-up just above your reply. Also said he will try to get it updated with pics. :) Rookies like me will be eternally grateful. :D
