Hello all i have a question regarding the use of chicken egg shells that have been boiled clean then oven heated to dry them out and the ground into a ultra fine powder for use as the calcium that one would put in a calcium bowl. the reason i am asking this question is because i found on the net i cant remember what breeder does it but they use crushed egg shell for this purpose i have access the hundreds of pounds of egg shell a week and i ran a test batch to see how it would come out now that i see i can make a ultra fine powder i want to know if anyone out there has done/seen/heard of this method good or bad just looking for feed back and if any one knows who i can contact to get a chemical composition of my powder that would be GREAT. like i said just looking for feed back at this point and trying to get solid proof of 1 or the other by getting a chem comp done thanks again for the input all hope this will get me where i need to go thanks.

Basically egg shells are calcium and I used eggs shells quite a bit, never had enough for all of my leos but I kept all of the shells from the eggs we ate and then boiled them ( all smashed up) in the microwave in a LARGE ( 4-5 cup container) container for 30 - 40 minutes and let them cool (only takes 8 to boil a cup of water) and baked them only long enough to get them dry and no longer, then ran them through a coffee grinder on super fine, and then put them in a quart sized freezer bag and beat the crap out of hem just ot be safe and take out anger frustrations lol to get them to a nice untrafine powder.
