I came in my room and turned the light on. I saw my gecko kept opening his mouth and closing it with his eyes closed as if he was 'urging' Then suddenly he shook his body like a dog would a water sprayed everywhere! the glass was covered in drops and the kitchen roll substrate was damp in drops. He didn't look wet, the water dish is too small to dip in and i just checked the moist hide and it was pretty much dry.

Can anyone explain what just happened?

Maybe?????? The opening and closing of the mouth is
sometimes a sign of being annoyed or startled. The body shaking probably goes along with his style for defense signs........
I had one do the annoyed mouth thing and then took a leak on me.......
Very forceful to........I was holding him and the spray went about 3 feet or so.........Still a guess but I'll go with it from the comment of the spray and droplets all over.......take care HJ..........

I couldn't help but start laughing at them lol. Yeah I dont know what that was, but I do know they expell liquid.
I have seen it squirt out of them all over the place.

When I get a chance to actually watch them in the act of pooping, sometimes they expell some water.
I have also gotten squirted a few times just holding them :p

So I know that not all their "pee" is in the form of solid urates.
