the youngest male to breed????

i think about this question also, but then I think that they mature around 7 months so waiting at least 12 to 14 months is best at least thats what we are doing.

yeh i always wait til their over a year. though some of my males can see females in the boxes next to them and ive heard young ones sometimes rattle their tails. like at 6 months and stuff.

im not promoting young breeder im just wondering and why would u wait thoe, i understand waiting for a female becase of weight but if a males ready breeding it wont hurt it at all right no matter what the age?

Sometimes the males get sooo into getting some action that they tend to forget about food and can lose weight. Especially if you are like some breeders and keep plopping the same male to serve different females every few days. That's why it's important he has some weight on him first and is matured/finished growing.

I would wait to breed a male. My males are all between 70-85 grams. During the breeding season they are so into breeding that they hardly eat and lose 10-20 grams. This is why I wait until they are at the very least a year old to start breeding.

it could hurt it if its smaller than the female, she might get nasty :O lol

We wait until after the males are a year old. They are normally at good weights by them. We have had several that once they start breeding season...eating isnt a high priority to them.
