right now i have 2 racks running off of my thermostat its brand is Alife 1000 watt electronic thermostat with probe and the racks are one from Boaphile its the one with 10 sterillite tubs that are model 1754 i think with belly heat and then one from Reptile Basics thats 12 Iris tubs that are sized for hatchlings with back heat. the one with back heat doesn't seem to heat up well at all and the other seems to be lower than normal temps too like 82-84 range. I am wondering if two thermostats would be better than just one and maybe 2 helix or 2 herpstat or 2 ranco or 2 johnsons would be a better solution. our room is generally about 75-80 during the day and at night around 72 sometimes less if cold outside, we are in florida so it dont get too cold outside so. I have had this same thermostat for 2 almost 3 years now. also is back heat okay for leos cuz I have never used back heat I have always used under tank heaters or flexwatt belly in the boaphile rack. i just bought the rack from reptile basics for hatchlings if my geckos ever breed but i guess they won't till i get this temp issue fixed. any input would be great thank you

Well...its sounds like you have 2 different heating methods attached to one thermostat and thats why its not heating properly. Because both heating elements are different they would have different wattage. In order to set more then one heating elements to one thermostat they have to be of equal lengths and wattage. I believe that the Herpstat II (cost more though) has 2 outputs that you can set for 2 different settings and/or 2 different heating elements. look into that one.
