Still need help. I currently have the pad under the glas on the cage and then the thermometer on the other side of that glass under the repti mat.

So the uth should be on the bottom of the cage, and the probe should be in the middle of the uth on the other side of the glass (inside the enclosure). It is easiest if you put a hide on top of the probe to keep it flat! :)

I actually have this combo on two of my tanks. You need to add the little rubber feet to the corners of the tank so there can be airflow to the uth and it has to be placed underneath the bottom glass. Then I tape the probe to the middle of the uth under the tank to regulate the temp.

This is the important part, you need a temp gun to test the temp on the inside floor of the tank in order to regulate it. You usually need to set the heat pad about 3-5 degrees warmer on the thermostat to reach the right temp on the warm spot floor. But you've got to test it.

I used to have my probes inside on the floor, but they kept getting in the way or moved even when they were taped or weighed down. Just my experience personally. If you put the probe in the tank, make sure to check the probe placement often and you should still have that temp gun to check the temps regularly either method.
