I got a bite like that on my ear once (gecko was sitting on my shoulder). It wasn't as deep though. That really looks painful. I'm guessing he held on for a long time. In my experience whenever I get bit as long as I stay perfectly still they let go quickly and I get not a scratch from them. Their teeth kind feel like pressure put on your skin from a plastic knife.

Oh ouch! My geckos are all testy what with breeding season and the females ovulating...I'm sure I'll get tagged one of these days. I've managed to escape a few "love bites" so far thank gosh. It really is hilarious it almost resembles a heart!

It was a classic mistake. Henrik was showing a costumer some of our adult geckos. Right before he showed Saturn, he did handled Preacherman.
He acctually lift up Saturn and put him in his hand...Saturn got absolutly stiff and then opend his mouth as much as he could, bend down and bite.

just not to close, just in case. I saw some one on here with a nasty bite on the lip, I think they whispered a little to close.

Lol, don't be silly, I don't consider a bite like that to be regular behaviour. I've got 8 of the buggers and been keeping for about 8 years now as well, and have never had one draw blood, or even cause pain

show (photo) how bad they can clamp down on a lip.
That was the worst, nasty one I've seen..
Sorry Henrik you get second place. But then I never saw
some that Marcia had that required stitches.
I have seen a male clamp on to another male........
.and that seems to be exactly what the other male scent
causes to happen. ....
My one bad bite was on the thumb.
Adults geckos have quite a jaw strength.........
The best "release" valve is the mist bottle..
