38 grams is way to small to be breeding. It's best for them to be over 50 grams, I prefer to wait until they're between 60-70 grams. They both also still look young, it's best to wait until they are 1 preferably 2 years old. I would suggest separating them until they are of optimal age and weight. If your female becomes gravid at that weight her body may not be able to handle it and can lead to death.
I would also like to make a friendly suggestion of getting rid of the sand (it's known to cause impaction and can lead to death) I know some have used it without incident but honestly why risk it. I prefer to use paper towels.
Also what are your plans for the babies? Leopard geckos can produce many babies and you'll have to make sure you have the room to take care of all those hungry mouths.

Way to small to be housed together. Breeding at that size would be very bad for that female and the eggs probably wouldn't make it either.

Time and nutrition will make them fatter. Don't put them together till she is around 60 grams. But you cant rush maturity.

thank you for the help, im glad i joined this forum haha, i have done a lot of research but tribal knowledge always does better. i feed them mainly crickets and meal warms i stay away from everything else because of what i have read, i gutload the crickets with flakers dried food and the yellow jellow stuff. i would say they are healthy, not breeding wait, but healthy

Your welcome. I'd stick to mealworms over crickets and dust every day. Also once a week wax worms will really put on some size.

thats odd i've read the opposite on a lot of sites, how do you gutload your meal warms to make sure the gecko is getting the nutrients it needs, i apologize for all the questions haha, i am always interested in learning as much as i can

No problem. Meal worms have much better nutritional value, most breeders will tell you feeding crickets is like eating popcorn. I store my meal worms in the fridge in oat meal let them warm one a weeks to feed. And keep a few days worth out of fridge with organic carrots to gutload, or sometime ever veggy scaps laying around the house. Check out the section hear FEEDERS some good info there.

i am up for roaches i would just have to find where to buy them because I'm pretty sure +++++ doesnt and the local pet store just closed down like a week ago :( i will go get some plain oat meal then and let them stay in there, i assume you purchase a huge quantity of meal warms then haha
