I would suggest getting an adult male as a first leo; females sometimes will stop eating during ovulation. Will be very stressful for a new owner! :)

As everyone said, check over the site. Also, look at some of the care sheets on the site sponsors web sites. They all have good and accurate info.

Here is some really basic info, though:

Setup
-10 gallon minimum tank size for 1 leo
-Under Tank Heater (UTH)
-Cool side of 70 F, warm side of 90-92 F
-They eat crickets and mealworms
-Food must be dusted with calcium every other feeding
-A bowl of calcium must be available in the tank at all time
-Dust food with vitamins once a week
-Water bowl
-Hide on cool side and on warm side
-Humid hide

You can try searching for some of the above info, and that might help :D

-Good luck
