so last season i put these 2 together like i do every year. beast and midnight. super giant X giant, both are totally normal colored animals, poss het RAPTOR....

for some reason though every year get animals like this....

lots of hypo tangs. they arent by any means the best looking hypo tangs, but still tangs none the less. they are actually the last of the season from that pairing

im so amazed that you can produce hypo tangs from normal animals. its almost as if a line breed trait can be breed so much that it acts resessive. the parents act like they are het for hypo tangs....

come to think of it. i produced this guy, big pappa bell. he came from 2 completely normal animals. like mose hypo tangs they get washed out after breeding, but he was a vibrant orange baby.. again from 2 normal colored parents. wow.......

.

man, now that i have come this far i started thinking about other line bred traits. like the stripes in RAPTORS... they arent resessive. but some how, some way i produced 2 full raptors this season from 2 animals that were not full RAPTORS.

this is a complete mind boggeling situation. if i didnt know any better i would say that tangerines and stripes were resessive. so that must mean that so many other animals that come from a line breed trait but do not express those traits must be able to pass them on in a resessive appearing form. even if you cant see them because of other traits... like the lack of black in albinos.... hhmmmmm...

well thanks for looking ay my mostly normal colored animals...

Nevin, I am not sure about the hypo part, but the tang in most animals is line bred to the point of acting recessive. Great observation and post !

You know, I'm guessing that the progression you've just illustrated is a similar progression to how we got hypo tangs in the first place. So, Thanks for the post. Even with the sarcasm ;)
