i went to ***** the other day, and this was their leopard gecko tank =( and it was only like, a little tiny square tank. like, a 5 gallon! plus there were tons more even behind the hide. i'd say about 30 or 40 of them. some had stuck shed on their toes and heads, and the water bowl was huge.

i'm pretty sure i saw an albino...i didn't know they sold those kind at these stores. they were all 19.99. i was so tempted to buy ALL of them but i didn't =(

...i was so upset...i went over to the guy and asked what morphs some of them were because i saw some different ones, and he didn't even know what morphs were, AND he picked one up by the TAIL!!!! thank god the poor thing didn't lose it. at least i didn't see sand in there.

on a happier note...

my babies were SPOONING!!!!!!!!!!! :D :main_thumbsup: (second picture)

Picked one up by the TAIL? See its the simplest basic knowledge like that the employees should have but don't.

They may have many different morphs for cheap, but coming from experience, their lack of care most of the time ends in tragedy.

You think that is bad...come to the store near us. I refuse to go in anymore. Last time I did I saw EXTREMELY sick geckos with poop everywhere in their disgusting cube of a tank. 5 had missing tails, one was dead and being eaten by crickets. Different sizes housed together, a huge waterbowl waiting to drown a tiny one, etc...

I will never again give them a cent of my money. It's a hard concept for some, but you are not "rescuing" a gecko when you pay money for it.

Much more worth it to buy from a local breeder...the care ALONE is 10 fold that of the chain stores.
