I took the advice I got from this forum and had a guy at Lowe's cut some tile for me. I found tile on sale for .80 per square and I only needed 2, plus they cut it for free, so 1.60 spent on this...can't beat that! I LOVE that I can clean it properly and it's got a rough texture kind of like sand and they love it! Here are some pics. When they are grown though I think I'll have to go to a 20 gallon tank.

Looks like you've got a couple of runaway mealies there... Cute setup! Once mine are larger I'll get them a nice tile, too. I just love the look of it above all, and the fact that it's safe and easy to clean is a bonus!

Very beautiful looking setup! One thing though, I see that you have those stick-on type thermometer, be careful the tile can get hotter than paper towel or carpet lining; feel the tile surface occasionally with your hand, make sure there are no hot spots. It can get quite hot in areas where heat can be trapped, ie. under a hide box.
