Thunderstorms

Last night we had, what I believe to be Herman's first thunderstorm. There was a tremendous boom, so I went to check on him. He went to the back of his hide, huddled in a corner and wouldn't come out. This morning, his crickets are still in there. He didn't eat. :(

He just shed, but he never turns down food...EVER!

some animals really don't like thunder I used to have a dog that would freak out every storm. I've never noticed my leo's durring a storm hopfuly all the crickets will be gone by the time you get home

He still doesn't seem happy. I took out a few crickets this morning that I could catch so they wouldn't bother him.

You know, we're the other way round...whenever we have typhoon or big storm approaching, I'll have some geckos sleeping outside of their hides, in the open! I guess its their instinct to avoid being buried if their "den" collapse in bad weather.

He might be in there hunting a few down right now. He didn't seem very interested. I'm wondering if I should start feeding him every other day.

I'm sure he'll be okay. Their appetite does slow down as they mature, so don't stress over a day or two, try feeding every other. My adults do every 2-3 days in winter when they're really slow.

He's six months old. I wasn't sure when he would be considered an adult.

All is well. He's back to his high speed cricket chasing. :main_yes:
