God I'm Such A Wussy! I just called my vet to schedule Abbies second surgery and I am having a VERY hard time fighting the tears back, I know she will be fine, but I just can't help it, I love that girl!

She has been limping pretty bad lately, she doesn't want to play with Spike or Brittney at all, she just lies on the couch under her blanket and watches them play. This morning she had to rest 3 times when I was taking her outside to go to the bathroom. When Bobby took her out, he had to pick her up and bring her outside.

She will be having the surgery done this Tuesday, I have to bring her in at 9:30 AM. And, will pick her up Wednesday after work. For those that don't know, both of her knee caps slipped out of place, so, the vet is putting a metal plate over her knee caps to hold them into place. She already had the left knee done, and now she is having the right knee done.

Everyone wish Abbie a safe surgery and fast recovery!

Here she is after her first operation:

Good luck, Abbie!! Jeanne, I'm sure her surgery will go just fine. She's already made it through one so you know she's strong ! Soon enough you're little robo-pup will be back to playing with the other dogs with her newly inplace knees.

Yeah, I'm sure she will be fine, but it stll makes me nervous, because no surgery is 100 % garaunteed.

I can't wait to see her running around again, throwing her toys around the house, etc.

Aw, Abbie is such a sweetie! She'll be so happy to have both her knees pain free!! I'm sure she doesn't mind being pampered post-surgery, either. :)

She doesn't need one of those lamp things around her neck? Nikki's dogs would chew those stiches right out! Good luck!

After her last surgery my vet said that if she does start chewing them that he would give me one, but she never bit them, only licked them a couple times.

Mandi, My dogs are my kids :)

Oh Nancy, she is pampered EVERY day! But, even more so now :)

Thank you Marcia, I know she will be 200% better after the surgery! It's going to be so nice having her back to normal :main_yes:

My Aunt's dog (the Aunt that I visited Sunday after the show) just had to have leg surgury last Friday. She was wearing one of those little bucket head collars (she's a Bichon) but her tongue was so long she could still lick her stitches & she got a bit chapped. :p My Aunt was on her way to get a bigger collar after dropping me at the airport. Poor thing, she probably won't even be able to fit in her crate!:main_rolleyes:

What a good girl that Abbie didn't need one last time!! :)

Abbie was so good after her first surgery, you could barely tell that she even knew she had surgery on her knee, she would ocassionally lick her knee and the stitches, never once chewed on them.
