Timer and Temperature Controller

I recently bought a Zoo Med timer and a Zilla temperature controller for my leopard gecko. They both work great so far, but the timer started to make a soft ticking noise. Is that normal?

Edit: It only makes that noise when it's about to turn off/on or if it just turned off/on.

Yep, that sounds normal. The timers with the dials like that work by having the dial turn like a gear and flip internal switches. The clicking is the gear reaching a set point and building up the tension to flip the switch. :)

If it starts bugging you, you can look into getting a digital timer. It doesn't have to be one made for reptiles.

I've had some that just quietly tick away all the time and others than do a weird periodic clicking when they get to a set point. I've never had a ZooMed brand one, so I'm not sure what's "normal" for that brand, but as long as it's working and turning stuff on/off, I would not be too concerned.
