Tips for Painting a Bathroom?

Hello!

I'm very bored this holiday vacation and have NO idea what to get my mom for Christmas because she never wears the clothes I buy her or uses and lotions and perfumes that I get her so I was stuck. Since we just had to fix our bathroom and some wall covering thing replaced with title I thought I would help redo the bathroom (she's into things for the apartment) it was a blah type of job and now I have plastic and stuff all over the wall and really needs a coat of paint so I thought I would give her that as a late xmas present so I need a little help.

What should I know about painting? Shouldn't be that difficult can it. My bathroom is tiny!

What colors are good for a bathroom? My tiles are just plain white so it wouldn't really matter.

Hope this helps

If its tiny go for something bright or lighter at least- nothing real dark it'll make it feel even smaller. If you have a bare bones bathroom to work with what I would do is go shopping for some accessories (towels, soap dish, rugs, toilet seat cover thingy) and base your paint colors off there....
It'd be easier that way anyway...if you pick an off-the-wall color it may be hard finding accessories and such to match. Just my opinion :D

As far as the actual painting itself... old clothes and cover EVERYTHING you dont want painted (i'm an extremely messy painter i swear i could paint a picture and end up with it in my hair, my face, on parts of my body that were covered in clothes...everything). and one more thing- wear one pair of socks while you're painting and don't walk around the rest of the house in them, when you leave the bathroom- leave the socks and put them back on when you go back in there. I'm notorious for stepping in a paint drip and dragging it through the house :main_yes:

If you're doing the ceiling a different color (i'm a huge fan of dark colors with white ceilings), lay down a little bit of caulk in the seam between the walls and ceiling, make sure it's laid out flat. We're talking a tiny amount here.

Paint over the caulk, as you would for the wall, then when you're done, come back and pull off the caulk, and you're set.

Google it up for a more detailed explanation, I'm limited on time, but just wanted to share this with you. It looks perfect every time.

Thanks. I already picked out some accessories and curtains. They're really bright and colorful so i doubt I'll have a hard time finding a color, lol.
