To Grout Or Not To Grout?

I think the grouting is a good idea, better to be safe! I would try as best you can to maybe glue the rocks onto something like a wood board and then grout it, that way you can remove the board for cleaning, also if later you decide to use another substrate you can remove it.

I say grout. I have two tanks that are tiled and grouted. They are by far the easiest to clean. Just make sure you seal the grout and let it dry for a few days before you add any animals. If you are using slate, I would seal that too.

Anything that is porous(grout and slate) can harbor bacteria.

Oh, and like said before, use non-sanded grout. If you want to get creative, you can buy plain white grout and add your own color to get the look you want.

what i did is i went out and bought cement (safe-nontoxic stuff) and put it in the cracks. So far it's good, but i'm going to let it sit. Since i like the look of sand i put sand on top of the cement so that the geckos can't get at the cement.

The only problem i have is getting it off the slat :p It's on there pretty good.

Thanks
