To Hold or Not to Hold...

We produced these "bandit" noseband APTOR males by crossing a Red Stripe/Emerine female from JMG to a White & Yellow G-Project tangerine male. The results exceeded expectations, and now we are tempted to hold them to create a line of APTORS with nosebands.

We also produced the very light colored bold designer with a noseband below (and keeps getting lighter) which could be line bred to make bold line bred snow with nosebands and possibly Eclipse bold line bred snow with nosebands, if it proves het Eclipse. Again, the temptation and opportunity are there to found a new project.

Point: Hobbyists often ask what the future holds for Leopard gecko breeding and whether we have nearly exhausted the possibilities to create new morphs. Here's proof that this captive bred species continues to endow us we plenty of "raw material" for innovation. We simply have to be observant.

Well if you don't hold them back the project may be lost. Hold

Thank you for your encouragement. Both of these projects are very intriguing. However, we are determined to keep our operation on the small side and taking on more projects would force us to grow beyond our comfort zone. There's a good chance that someone else will.

Wow! they are gorgeous!!! I wish you the best of luck with the project because they are definitely keepers!

and I have a similar situation with a Bold Stripe het Tremp, he has NO bandit lineage yet has a perfect, classic "bandit" nose, here's a pic:

EDIT: Just saw this

Darn! I was hoping you'd keep them and give us plenty of awesome pics as they breed/progress as a project, but at the same time what you said is understandable. Many of us are forced to keep things on the small side coillection-wise so not many people will mind if you don't have 500 leo's or something lmao

Thank you for the compliment. The noseband does pop up in different morphs. It's up to us to selectively breed for the trait. I personally like how it looks on most morphs.

No problem at all! and I definitely intend to line breed for it, so I think you can guess that I agree, It looks AWESOME on almost anything :D It also shows that exciting things happen all the time, even for small time keepers like myself and others. It's amazing.
