i traded her to a good friend and she was shipped. but when she arrived her adomun was riped open. we have no idea how this happened, for my packing is good. she will be missed greatly........ rest in peace my old 8 legged friend........

Mishandled package, assuming she was packed up correctly. What shape was the box in when it got to its destination? I've shipped hundreds of inverts, without a single casualty. I'm saddened for your loss.

i was told that the box was ok. the packing was good as well, i have shipped my share of inverts and never had any problems. this has me worried because i have to ship again on monday. i hope that goes well because its for my leoperd gecko! i can only pary that the trade goes all right..

coming from a reptile person, this is probably a stupid idea...I know it sounds inhumane, but is it possible she may have tried to eat herself? As in, there was no/not enough food foor her? I don't know if this is even possible, but please don't get mad at me if I am horrible wrong, which I probably am. I'm very sorry for your loss, I'm sure she was a loyal pet.

no i dont belive its possible for a tarantula to eat themselves, their body just cant move that way. as for food adult tarantulas can go for months with out food and be perfectly healthy. i would post a pic of how she looked when she got to her destination but i belive some people on this forum would not like that.
