Hello fellow gecko lovers,
A couple of months ago I decided to pick up the terrarium-hobby again after many years.
In the past I kept a green iguana, some Anolis lizards, and the occasional Tokay gecko.
But combining various species within one terrarium didn't work very well...
When I went into the army I sold everything, and after that I concentrated on job, marriage, etc... the boring stuff...
But it always stayed in the back of my mind, and when my significant other gave me a coupon for the local reptile store for my birthday, there were no excuse anymore...
I decided to stick to just one species this time, and I chose the Tokay.
I kept two of them earlier, and really love how they look and behave.
It's kind of a misunderstood creature I guess, most keepers brag about how aggressive their Tokays are, or - just the opposite - how they have tamed them and changed them into lapdogs...
I'm not interested in that - for me, the Tokay is a beautiful lizard just the way it is, complete with natural colours (no unnatural looking morphs for me...), barking sounds and snapping jaws
So now I'm the proud owner of three of these little dragons - two females and one male. They were in good shape when I got them, but even so, they improved very much over the last couple of weeks. They eat like there's no tomorrow, seem to be very happy in their new environment, and behave, well, like Tokays. That's just what I want them to do, so that's cool!
I'll post some pictures later, if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
I expect to have a good time here, and to learn more about our mutual hobby!
Kind regards,
Gerard Slooven
