Too fat?

I noticed Picasso looks a bit plump and I'm wondering if I'm feeding him too much or not? I feed him meal worms once a night as many as he will eat and that is usually 5-10. Is this too much? Should I limit what he eats?

Here are some photos:

Picasso looks happy and healthy. I look for pockets by the armpits to determine if I'm giving my geckos too much food, or too much of one type of feeder.

My leo has pockets under her armpits, I never really thought about it much. Now that I look at her she is definitely fat. What should I do? should I cut back feeding? i feed her crickets 2-3 times a week, as many as she will eat, and sometimes she gets mealworms and rarely waxworms or horn worms as a treat. I offered a horn worm last night and she didn't eat it.

I give my gals mealworms and dubia roaches. They are 5 to 6 inches, so I give them 10 to 12 feeders every other day. They seem to be maintaining a healthy weight. Once they get older and their metabolism slows, I may bump them back to every 3rd day.

I don't know how old mine is because I got her at ++++++++, but she has definitely grown a lot, almost doubled in size since I got her, and I've had her for about 2 years now i think. Would you say she is old enough to be fed every 3rd day? If she is fat then clearly she will eat to excess, so should i start controlling how much she eats rather than letting her eat until she stops going after prey?

I put her on a diet that limits her food and she if she starts to trim down a bit. If not, you can try feeding every third day. Getting her out and letting her run around might help her to burn off some extra calories too.

My almost 5 year old male has armpit bubbles. He only eats twice a week, 12 mealworms or two supers. I can't feed him much less!

OP, your gecko looks just right to me!

I've read that mealworm heavy diets lead to armpit bubbles as well. I'm guilty of that, mealworms are just so easy to maintain. I'll have to work on feeding dubia more often to see if the bubbles appear less often or are less prominent.

I didn't know that! That is probably my gecko's problem! I switched to feeding crickets about a month ago, and although I haven't seen much of a difference yet, if you are right, her armpit bubbles should decrease at some point. I'm hopeful she slims out, but we'll see. Are dubia roaches more nutritious/ healthier for leos than crickets? I was always under the impression that crickets are the best.
