Leonidas started the shedding process last night, and by the time I got up this morning, he was just lounging around with the old skin still hanging off. (almost completly seperated by the way. So I gave it a little pull to help him get it started, but doesn't really seem like he's interested in solving the problem. He's even still has over half of it still on him. The skin that he did wriggle his way out of is alot laying all over the cage. Doesn't seem to be interested in eatting it for whatever reason.

Any one else ever have this issue?

I did with my gecko once, but it was only on the head. I decided to help him get it off so I misted his head once then went to get a q-tip, and when I got back he had it off. Maybe you could try this?

Im no expert, but do you have a moist hide?

or a pipe or something for him to rub against?

Dunno if there would be any problems with this, but maybe get like a toilet roll tube, or a kitchen roll tube, wet it and leave it in the vivarium so he gets both something to rub against, and something moist. Wait for another answer before you try that though, as im not sure if there would be glue or something on the tube that might harm your gecko.

I just misted down the cage pretty good, and he's holed up in the moist hide. Hopefully by the time I get home from work he'll have everything worked out.

Go figure the youngest one was able to handle this process by himself last week...

Oh, I have a moist hid in there, plus he has his half a log. The log itself has the bark on the outside, so I'd assume he would've used that to rub it off.

Shed my skin

Suggest you not mist down the
whole place.
Too much humidity can lead to respiratory problems.
Mist the hide, you give him a choice that way.
Sometimes we don't allow them enough time to accomplish the shed.
Other times they need a bit of help from us with a wet Q-tip
and gentle patience of rolling the shin loose with the wet tip.
Not a good idea to pull it off dry.
Its like trying to take its coat off with it still buttoned.
Take care. Hj
