Too slow to eat

My male gecko is having problems catching crickets. He's always been on the smaller side but now is having problems catching his dinner. Any suggestions as to the problem?

You could always take the hind legs off of the crickets. Or maybe try to switch him to mealworms.

It could be a few different things, although some geckos just aren't great hunters to begin with:

• Health issues, especially calcium/vitamin deficiencies or wrong temperatures for digestion, could be affecting his hunting. Feel free to review this caresheet to ensure that your air and floor surface temperatures are correct and you are providing the necessary calcium and vitamin supplements.

• He's not really hungry. When they are very well fed, they get lazy and just don't hunt as well.
