Tornados

I bought a female and male Tangerine tornado.The female is a dark burnt orange color one associates with that morph.I also have a male tornado that I bought when he was 3 mts.The male is now 1 1/2 old but has lost the dark orange and just looks like a hypo tang now.My question is who passes most of the intense colour , the female or the male.

Tangerine is a line bred trait and the genetics of them can indeed be hidden and passed on. It's the genes as much as the appearance that makes good animals and the traits are passed on equally by both parents.
