is there any way to do this? i have shown him food in a bowl and all he does is stare at it curiously. he won't take food unless it's from tongs (or fingers, but he freaking ATTACKS the tongs so i'm not about to do that). i don't mind feeding from tongs all that much except it takes a while.

he's an adult gecko that has never had a bowl of food. his previous owners just tossed in a handful of super worms and let him have at it. he's a little fat and not the most agile hunter so i don't want to do that.

i used to drop Mealies one by one into the tank, but i finally just started dropping them into the bowl, and i guess she got hungry and found them. Now she eats from a bowl with no problem

Make a build up of slate or other material to
allow him to rest on the level of the top of the bowl. Keep a carrot round with the worms to keep them fresh....or change daily.....take care. HJ

I haven't had my gecko for long, but when i tried to feed her mealies, she refused to eat them (I think because she was still under stress from being in a new home). After a while she would roam around and when she saw the worms in the bowl, she noticeably changed into hunt mode. I think they will eventually come across them when they walk around their tank no matter where you put them. Sometimes I hand-feed her some worms so she gets used to my hand but if she doesn't go for it, I'll just leave them in the dish and she will find them sooner or later.

Mine wouldn't eat them. They were more like room mates.
